PDF Converter Service - TOC hyperlinks disabled in PDF

Hi,

I am using the Plutext PDF converter windows service to convert a DOCX document to PDF. The DOCX document contains a TOC (generated via docx4j + Plutext windows service for page numbers) with enabled hyperlinks i.e. I can redirect to the DOCX content from the TOC.
However, in the PDF which I create from DOCX, I am not able to redirect to PDF content from TOC i.e. TOC hyperlinks are disabled.

I also used the online tool for Plutext PDF conversion and still got the same issue. To make sure that my DOCX document was not the root cause for this, I also converted a basic sample docx with TOC and still got the same issue in PDF.

Can you please help me in letting me know that if this is an issue with the PDF converter service or the TOC links in PDF are not available for the trial version.

Thanks,
Kapilesh

Hi there, currently we don't create hyperlinks in the PDF output. Doing this is high on our priority list (please contact support@plutext.com to expedite).

Your PDF viewer might auto-detect hyperlinks, so sometimes, it might look like hyperlinks are enabled.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the reply!!

I am surprised to hear that you don't provide this solution. It is pretty adamant that a user should be able to navigate to the PDF contents from the Table of Contents.
Let me put again my requirement just to make sure that we are on the same page.

While I convert my DOCX document into a PDF document using the PDF converter service provided by Plutext, the generated PDF should contain navigation abilities from its Table of Contents to the contents in the PDF. We can state in other way as the entries in the Table of Contents should be clickable and, on the click, PDF should be automatically scrolled down to the respective entry below in the PDF.

The above requirement is feasible if I use the docx4j-export-FO solution for PDF conversion, which is a low performance solution and hence I would prefer the commercial Plutext PDF converter service.

Can you please again double-check if such a solution is provided by the Plutext PDF converter service as I would really like to have this functionality in my product.

Thanks,
Kapilesh
