Hi,
I am new to Docx4J as well open xml. My task is to merge columns horizontally as shown in the first row of image attached to this post.

Till now I have found the following code which seems not to work.

Also the following tutorial does tell how to merge columns vertically which works but I need horizontal merging:

I am finding it difficult to modify the code given in "Vertically merging table cells" section of above tutorial to perform horizontal merging. can some one help pls.
