spammers cracked phpBB's captcha in early Feb, and with that came a tidal wave of spam registrations

I turned on email activation for new registrations, but forgot to check the server was actually sending out emails.

So if you have registered but not received an activation email, you'll need to register again. Sorry to anybody this affected.
